And you can almost taste it…

It’s nearly been a year since we all last basked in the flavourful smells and lively music being carried by the warm summer air in the Abbey Grounds in Wicklow Town. Did the year go by quickly or are the memories still fresh in our minds?

If you joined us last year, then you’ll already have an idea of what diverse tastes, sounds, and bountiful craic awaits you at this year’s event. But if you’re a Taste of Wicklow newbie, then let us give you the lowdown on what you can expect.

The Taste of Wicklow is a celebration of food, music, and culture that both showcases homegrown tastes as well as introduces the town to tastes from further afield.

Locals and visitors from far and wide gather in the picturesque Abbey Grounds, a homely and garden-like backdrop for the weekend festivities, and sample from the many food stalls, take in the local music, and generally enjoy the summer as it was always intended – with family and friends under a warm sun.

You can sample staples of the local cuisine including seafood from The Fishman or craft beer from the Wicklow Brewery, and you can expect more far-flung tastes such as the Korean Burrito.

The Irish Popcorn Company and The Crepe Box cater to those with an irrepressible sweet tooth, while Macro Chips and The Sausage Hut will satisfy those with more savoury tastes!

And of course, what is a festival without the tunes? There’ll be sets from DJs and local musicians as well as popular cover bands belting out the music of UB40 and Bob Marley.

We’ll even have an outdoor cinema on Friday the 28th of June for the movie fans amongst you!

And these are only the starters as there’s plenty more fun to be announced for the weekend. So make sure to watch this space, and get ready for The Taste.
